The Cabinet approval was obtained to sign the Air Services Agreement between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Cabinet Memorandum on 21st March 2022 which was submitted by the Hon. Minister of Tourism to sign the Air Services Agreement with the objective of further enhancing the relationship between the two countries on aviation sector activities. This initiative will further enhance tourism, education, trade, investment, agriculture and cultural ties between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands

Expansion of Air Law in Sri Lanka

The Cabinet Approval was received on 13th December 2021 for the Cabinet Memorandum No. 21/2073/327/058 and dated 26.11.2021 submitted by the Hon. Minister of Tourism on the Accession to the Protocol to amend the Convention on Offences and Certain Other Acts Committed on Board Aircraft (Montreal Protocol 2014) in Sri Lanka.

Certification of Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana for international flying

Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana, the fourth international airport of Sri Lanka was certified as an International Aerodrome by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka with effect from 27th March 2022.

FITS Aviation (Pvt) Limited was designated as a carrier permitted to operate international scheduled all-cargo services under the Singapore - Sri Lanka Air Services Agreement.

FITS Aviation (Pvt) Limited which is Sri Lanka's largest private airline was designated to operate scheduled all-cargo services to Singapore under the Air Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Singapore and the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka for air services between and beyond their respective territories signed on 29 August 1985 (Singapore - Sri Lanka ASA).
